You will feel better...
and your pet will too! It's very hard to leave our animals when we go away on vacation. Truthfully, it's very hard anytime we leave our animals! You will feel so-much-better, and worry free, when you know that they are at home, safe, and in the caring hands of a personal, professional pet sitter. That's us!
Quashing Stereotypes
Having your friend, family member, student, or neighborhood child - provide home and pet care for you is not only a risky and dangerous choice, it is also a poor substitute for the real service providers.
Before you pick a poor substitute ask yourself a few questions first.
1. If something goes wrong in my home or with my pet's health and well being while I am gone, and the situation has been handled poorly, am I willing to risk damaging my personal relationship with this person?
2.What if this person has an accident or a personal emergency in the middle of a job, then who will care for my pet while I am gone?
Our pet sitting service is akin to having a personal trainer or a personal chef. Our staff is not "the kid next door." The old cliche you get what you pay for could not be more true in this business. Anyone can set up shop as a pet sitter, but not everyone has the education and practical experience to work with your animals, and not everyone has a built-in support staff - to care for your pet in the event your pet sitter has a personal emergency.
AWPSI will only hire individuals with a two or four year degree in an animal related science or with the work experience that is equivalent. These people are college graduates, registered veterinary technicians, veterinary assistants, trainers, zoo keepers, wildlife rehabilitators, and the list goes on - Professionals in the animal care field.
Each pet sitter is trained by an AWPSI manager in pet CPR, first aid, pet handling, animal husbandry, pet safety, personal safety, and home security. AWPS is insured and bonded, and our staff is screened by a private firm to ensure that they are safe, honest, reliable and competent. Which means your personal property is in good hands.
Convenience
Convenience for you! No more transporting pets to the kennel, or imposing on friends and family.
No Boarding-Stress
Your pet is less stressed in their own territory. Smells, sight, sound, and the comforts of home remain the same. How often has your pet returned from the kennel exhausted, stressed, and hoarse from prolonged barking? This is a result
of the continuous barking environment common in kennels. In-home pet care also means your pet is not exposed to communicable diseases associated with boarding facilities such as kennel cough.
Personal Attention
Your pet has our undivided attention!
Home Security
Regular house visits, picking up the mail and newspaper, reversing your lights and drapery all provide additional
home security.
In-Home Pet Care Assistance How often do you find it impossible to follow your veterinarian's home care instructions?
Do these excuses come up? • Busy work schedule • Busy child care schedule • Vacation, or day trip • Elderly assistance • Pet restraint and handling

Back-Up Pet Sitter
Sometimes your regular pet sitter (i.e. a different pet sitting company) is not available and in these instances it is very important to have a contingency plan or a back-up pet sitter in place. Plan time in advance for an interview and contract confirmation. You'll have a safety net in place, and we'll be ready to work for you in the event your regular pet sitter cannot.
